Campaign Suggestions
- Proposition 4: Community Bill of Rights or Envision Spokane - NO -
Protect Spokane Jobs
- SB-5688 / R71 - NO
- Protect you from unaffordable tax increases: Initiative 1033 - YES
- Why are there so many signs opposing Initiative 1033 and none supporting it? Could it be that the supporters, such as National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), spent most, if not all, of their available funds to get it on the ballot? Over 90% of small business owners support 1033, and many of them are struggling to make ends meet, partly because of their excessive taxes.
Contrast their budget with that of the unions (mostly representing government workers) who can afford their huge campaign against 1033, and have some left for Spokane City Council District 1 candidate, Amber Waldref (Look at her endorsements)
Mike Fagan, on the other hand is the only City Council candidate supporting Initiative 1033. He will give the City Council some balance and will help protect your property rights. Even renters would benefit because they are indirectly paying property tax. We have to live within a budget, so should the state and local governments.
Voters want more choices!
Funding for Education is separate and should not be affected by 1033.
- City Council District 2: Mike Allen
- City Council District 3: Nancy McLaughlin
- Spokane School District 81 Position 3:
Heidi Olson or
Dr. Jeff Bierman
- Spokane School District 81 Position 4: Laura has more time and will bring more balance to the school board.
The incumbant has been there at least 12 years. What has he done about the high drop-out rate and the frequent changes (3 times in 5 years) in the way they teach Math? And he is the President of the School Board! He is a city attorney, does he have time? Time for a change. Let him have more time to spend with his family.
- West Valley School District Position 2: Write in Jeff Baxter
